Delhi-Noida elevated road is all set to decongest roads
Noida has forged into an irreplaceable part of the ever expanding and all important NCR region. The vibrant and crucial Noida Authority is all set to finalize a firm next week to undertake the work of the elevated road between Delhi and Noida. The road is proposed to link Delhi with the Kalindi Kunj-Noida border. The elevated road is going to be built on the lines of Delhi’s Barapullah elevated road The new road is rightly hailed to significantly reduce and decongest the traffic on the existing Delhi-Noida link road. Thus the travel time to cities like Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Delhi will be reduced significantly. The much needed project is expected to cost the concerned authorities a whopping Rs 525 crores.
The feasibility tests have already been completed with utmost care and detailed feasibility reports have already been filed with the concerned authorities. Several well renowned firms had submitted their bid for the project, one of which has passed the first round of evaluation. For further clarifications and approvals, Ernst & Young who is the consultant of the Noida Authority will come into the picture and submit its very own report.
Once the consultant files its report next week, financial bids for the project will be finalized. The company who has been awarded the contract will then prepare a highly detailed report of the project containing designs, surveys, working drawings along with obtaining clearances from relevant authorities. The company will also be held responsible for maintaining a quality check of the project.
This state of the art elevated road which is 5.54 KM long is being built in a way which will allow it to run parallel to Shahdara drain. Once the elevated road is operational it will allow seamless commuting between Noida and all areas of Delhi especially south Delhi, Sarai Kale Khan and AIIMS hospital. The road will be built on stilts and carriageways will be 3 laned on each side. From the time of starting of the roads construction, the project is estimated to take approximately 30 months for completion.
