Nearly 500 acres of land in Sector 29 along Yamuna Expressway to be turned into a business hub near the upcoming Jewar Airport. The facility is to be used to build a project that features 200 acres textile hub hoping to give a boost to the bedridden garment industry in the city. The project is also set to house an expo mart as well as a handicrafts park within the same facility. Having the ability to house 300 shops, the apparel park is set to attract an aggressive investment of Rs 3,000 crore, as well as tourists. The hub would perform as a common facility for both export and sale of apparel, garments, fashion and hard goods, furniture as well as jewelry items. The project is expected to come up next year, according to the officials.
Adding to these advancements, the authorities have also finalized plans to dedicate 300 acres of land to establish a mall dedicated for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) along the expressway that is being built to house over 500 enterprises under one roof. According to Arun Vir Singh, YEIDA (Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) they are looking forward to empower the local women with the help of this project, along with taking full benefit of schemes proposed by the government to promote exports.
To be developed by the state government, the authorities have approved plans to establish a skill development center in the city which will spread over 2.4 acre of land. The project will provide vocational courses to interested students and will be handing out industrial training diplomas or certificates.
