World to celebrate 2nd International Yoga Day

International Yoga DayThe Second International Yoga Day celebrations are about to kick off all across the world on June 21, 2016. It was in consent to the United Nation (UN) declaration on December 2014 that yoga day decided to be commemorated globally. While playing a major role in the yoga celebrations, India has marked several historic events last year, including the Guinness World records of hosting largest yoga session, conducted yoga in the high attitude Siachen, in the middle of the ocean in navy ship and much more. This time again, we have prepared many significant events in mass scale to celebrate yoga day.

Over 1 Lakh yoga events are planned all across the country as part of the second yoga day. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the biggest of the organized yoga events in Chandigarh; where close to 35,000 people are expected to take part. Delhi is expected to witness 10,000 participants taking part in yoga day events, though lately the possibilities of rain have loomed above the conduct of yoga day. Close to 60 ministers will lead yoga across various locations of the country. About 16,000 colleges, 12,000 schools, 391 universities will host yoga event with utmost fervor in India.

United Nations headquarters have been lit up with the sign displaying an image of yoga. About 177 countries will observe the day. Yoga celebrations at Times Square will be headed by spiritual leaders and a fair number of Indian communities. Arrangements like LED screens, bio-toilets, dustbins and water bottles have been arranged for the event in various places. Traffic restrictions are imposed in morning at several regions as per requirements.
