UP RERA is to set up the bench in Greater Noida to hear 4000 pending cases of Noida and Greater Noida region, while there are over 2,50,000 housing units stuck in NCR.
The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UPRERA) is all set to open its western UP bench in Greater Noida to hear housing cases which are pending since long.
The bench will be located at the old building of the Greater Noida Authority’s office in Gamma 2. This bench will hear cases pertaining to Gautam Buddh Nagar (Noida and Greater Noida), Yamuna Expressway Authority, Ghaziabad and Meerut, all in the National Capital Region (NCR).
There are total four bench members two of them will hear cases in the Greater Noida office, while the remaining two will be in Lucknow.
As builders struggle to complete projects and meet timelines due to overcapacity and financial crunch, there are realty projects to the tune of Rs 400 billion and totaling 250,000 housing units are stuck at various stages in Uttar Pradesh, particularly in the NCR region.
The first full-time RERA chairperson will be former UP Chief Secretary Rajive Kumar as appointed by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s government to boost the state’s housing sector regulator.
According to reports, around 6000 applications related to real estate were waiting to be heard across the state, of which 4000 were from Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad region.
