The authorities of Gautam Budh Nagar will soon be proposing certain significant changes for the building bylaws in order to make sure that the high-rises get fast and easy evacuation system. For the same, a committee including the civic officials and experts has been formed to suggest the new measures for the fire safety. This effort came into being as a follow up when the meeting between the Rama Raman, Industries and Noida Authority chairperson, Uttar Pradesh principal secretary, and chief fire officer of the district, chief executive officers of Noida, Greater Noida and YEIDA authorities happened in Lucknow.
The CEO, Noida and Greater Noida Authority, Deepak Agarwal informed that currently the National Building Code is being followed for implementation of fire safety measures in buildings. Further, this plan will make the safety norms more strong. Apart from proposing stricter norms, it has to be made sure that the occupants in the high-rises remain safe and the property remains protected from fire.
Such amendments will mainly aim at preventing fire, will ensure that the needed training and facilities are present and will seek that the basic plan of the building design set by the architect is not compromised. The CEO also confirmed that the permitted layout building plans will pay heed to the norms for escape routes, elevator standards and setbacks. Moreover, these norms will also be implemented in public buildings comprising colleges, schools, institutional buildings, hospitals and residential buildings.
