According to a survey, Sohna in the South of Gurgaon is expected to urbanise within the next 6-7 years. By the year 2020, Sohna is expected to witness about 13,000 housing units and significant infrastructure developments to score high on its livability index. The report commissioned by CREDAI, finds out that the location which presently lacks infrastructure will be ushering into good times by seeking developments in healthcare, neighbourhood, safety, civic amenities, road/rail connectivity and by availability of more housing projects.
At present the properties in Sohna comes at relatively lower prices compared to the other regions of Gurgaon. When the new projects commissioned will be ready for possession by 3-4 years, Sohna will also contribute to the affordable housing scheme. However, visible habitation will only be seen in the next 6-7 years. The economic activities are gaining impetus and growing in Gurgaon, a major part of it will also reach the Southern frontiers of Gurgaon, revealed the survey.
According to the Sohna 2031 plan, the location is expected to have 6.4 Lakh populations by the end of the plan. The timely completion of the proposed projects and infrastructure developments will be a crucial factor to determine the living quotient of Sohna. The survey has evaluated several parameters including present and future, educational, health, business and other infrastructure developments in the city.
