Noida Authority has always been vibrant in updating and refining the livelihood in Noida. In fact, city of Noida has enabled its unparalleled facelift being backed by such powerful and determined authority. The fresh year seems like a vibrant start for the Noida Authority. This time the plan is to enact a water metro service on Hindon River. The proposed project targets to provide water transport for commuters from Noida Extension (Greater Noida West) to Delhi through Mayur Vihar.
Once implemented, the project will reduce the travel time from Mayur Vihar to Noida Extension by significant 15 minutes, while on the road it takes about 1 hour, said the Noida Authority Chairman Rama Raman. The mobility plan drawn by the authority to cater the transportation needs of the residents for next two or three decades. He added that his team is exploring the pros and cons of the project and sooner measures will be adopted to execute the project.
The chairman added that the city of Noida is surrounded by rivers and rather treating them as ‘obstacles’, we are transforming them to fruitful opportunities. The city was earlier known for its water based transportation. Raman said that the Atta villagers used boats to travel to and fro from their residences and depended widely on it during the hazards like floods. In what can compliment it best, Noida Authority has also initiated for revival project for the polluted Hindon River. This time with water transportation using eco-friendly boats, the authority is preparing for a substantial development.
Noida Extension is one of the emerging housing segments of Delhi-NCR. The location has witnessed a proposal of nearly 2 Lakh properties which will be coming up in the future. This will create great hustles in the transportation segment and by means of using of Hindon at its best, Noida Authority’s move is appreciable and right on cards.
