The immensely coveted and sought after DU – Delhi University is all set commence its admission process from today onwards. So all the DU aspirants get your act together and submit your application today without any delay. A total of 54000 seats are up for grabs and the going is bound to be tough but that’s when the tough get going. In a bid to spike the number of applications, DU has strategically decided to start the process of submission of application online from 28th of May 2015 onwards while the offline process will commence from 5th June 2015.
This move is an attempt to discourage students from applying offline. Earlier the all important Delhi University used to kick off the application process both online and offline on the very same day. Forms can be filled online on Delhi University’s official website www.du.ac.in while forms can also fill and submitted on the android application prepared especially by the University for this Year’s Admission Process. The application can be downloaded from DU’s website as well.
While on the other hand, offline forms could be purchased from a list of pre decided colleges in DU’s south and north campuses from June 5 onwards. Aspirants purchasing forms will have to shell out Rs 100 if they belong to general or OBC categories while SC and ST class of students will have to pay Rs 50. While colleges are expected to release their first admission list on 25th of June which will be in turn followed by roughly six more lists. Students will be allowed three days to complete their enrollment post the issuance of the first cut off list. Students will be able to do so between 9AM and 1PM.
From this year the admission process has been significantly simplified. All that the student needs to do is to fill out his or her board, roll number, basic details and the course of choice. The need to enter the preferred college has been done away with. University will utilize the best of 4 formulas this year as well. Interested students will have to disclose and fill out marks of the subject they wish to do major in along with one subject language and two other subjects of their choosing. But if a student hasn’t earlier studied the subject in which they want to do their major in then 2.5% marks will be deducted as a penalty.
A major chunk of admission tests which DU used to earlier conduct are also a thing of the past. The admission process has been simplified to a great extent.
