A great relief for property buyers in Dehradun, Uttarakhand government has decided to reduce the circle rates in urban and semi-urban areas by 50 percent. In a meeting chaired by CM Harish Rawat gave the nod for the proposal, which recommended 50 percent slash in circle rates.
By the process, the Congress government has revised its own decision taken earlier in January, where they increased the circle rates by 10-30 percent. The decision had received wide protests from a number of quarters and also the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Since then, the opposition demanded for revision of circle rates. The state assembly elections are due in early 2017 and many view this as a strategy of Congress to attract voters in their favour.
Dehradun is one of the major real estate markets of the state with beautiful landscape views and reputed educational and institutional areas. Being the capital of the state, the city is witnessing rapid industrial and IT development. As the circle rates have come down, Doon Valley will become more lucrative and attractive for home buyers and investors.
