Surajkund, a small reservoir in Faridabad, plays host to one of India’s premier crafts festival every year known as “Surajkund International Crafts Mela”. The vibrant festival is organized during the spring season from February 1 to 15 every year. The partner nation of this year’s Mela is “Lebanon”. Lebanon will unveil and display its age old heritage of creating art and crafts. Su chefs, cultural troupes and craftspersons from Lebanon will entertain the visitors with their skills. 17 other countries who have confirmed their participation for the event thus far are Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Russia, Armenia, Thailand, Qatar, and Kuwait amongst others
Organizers of the event have gone all out and have left no stone’s unturned to market the event. 22 Metro stations in Delhi will act as the events ticketing partners. “Surajkund Mela”, a free mobile application for smartphones has been developed and made available for downloads. Users will be able to access latest information regarding the Mela and will also be able to book tickets via the app.
