30 acre Herbal Park in Noida 2 years down the line

Authorities are going all out to develop Noida into a preferred location for investment, tourism and living amidst tough competition from other major metro cities of the country. Free Wi-Fi, F1 race circuit, Night Safari, multi lane expressways, multi level parking facilities, India expo mart, gigantic shopping malls/entertainment hubs, proposed metro stations all over Noida etc, are just some of the steps undertaken for the greater good of the region. But there is no stopping the Noida authority till their goal is achieved.

Now, the Noida authority is all set to develop and maintain in the ever growing Sector 91, a magnificent and scenic 30 acres of medicinal garden. It plans to cultivate over 25000 varieties of plants and trees in massive quantities over the course of next two years. The aim behind the herbal park is to spread awareness about the healing and therapeutic capabilities of plants. The project is estimated to cost somewhere around Rs 25 Crores. The tenders for the same are expected to be floated during the coming month. With the aim of opening the garden to public in the next two years, work is likely to commence from April 2015 onwards.

The plants play a pivotal role in modern pharmaceuticals and traditional remedies. Traditional herbal medications can be used and relied on to treat diseases and for generic healthcare. It is a proven fact that many modern day drugs are derived indirectly or directly from plants extracts. The all important Noida authority plans to extend awareness about the same after the Herbal Park is in place.

According to the authorities, the garden will be equipped with clusters of medicinal plants. Prominently displayed using display boards will be the nomenclature of the plant and its use of treating a particular ailment. Planted in various clusters will be plants which are used to treat diseases pertaining to skin, digestive and nervous system. Aloe Vera, Sunflower, Hibiscus, Lavender, Tulsi are just some of the varieties which will be grown at the garden. The garden will also sport a state of the art amphitheatre to host informative lectures for the general public and a water body with different varieties of lily and lotus.

The herbal park is expected to be a one of its kind in the entire nation and will change the landscape of Noida forever and forever.
